Commission Finds U.S. Wasted Billions on Wartime Contracts

The bipartisan Commission on Wartime Contracting found that the U.S. wasted $30 billion on private contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Waste was due to bad planning, “inadequate competition,” lack of oversight and accountability, and “subpar performance or outright misconduct by some contractors and federal employees.” Read truthdig’s analysis here.
