As Obama takes the stage today at George Washington University to discuss the pressing issue of HIV/AIDS prevention and reduction, we’d like to remind him (kindly) not to bow to the current heat he’s receiving from Catholic Bishops. If these sinister old men are allowed to prevent women from access to basic healthcare, Obama hasn’t only relented from his previous promises — he’s abandoned half the population. His remarks:
Few could have imagined that we’d be talking about the real possibility of an AIDS-free generation. But we are. And we arrived here because of all of you and your unwavering belief that we can – and will – beat this disease.
We are crossing our fingers and toes that he actually means what he says, and will take the necessary steps to make sure that women still have access to free, safe contraceptives.
