There is nothing unusual about a presidential candidate raising big money from wealthy bundlers. But failing to reveal those bundlers is quite atypical; yet that’s exactly what Mitt “Evade, evade, evade” Romney is doing.
The Center for Responsive Politics notes that Romney revealed his bundlers the last time he ran for president, in 2008. But he has yet to do so this time around. The organization released this statement on its website, OpenSecrets.org:
Romney has refused all calls to release information about the identities of those in his army of bundlers. We know. We’ve asked.
On March 12, a coalition of good government groups and transparency advocates sent a formal request to Mitt Romney’s campaign asking that he release information about his bundlers to the public. We’ve received no response.
The nonpartisan group has issued a petition on its website hoping to persuade Romney to reveal the identities of his bundlers. If you agree with the petition, sign it here.
