Wall Street Lobbyists Spend $1,331 A Minute

The good folks at Elect Democracy, a nonpartisan effort by human rights organization Global Exchange, have crunched the numbers on Wall Street spending since 2006 and found that the finance, insurance, and real estate sector has spent a total of $4.2 billion on congressional lobbying, or about $1,331 a minute. They’ve also developed a “legislative scorecard,” which correlates all congressional members’ voted on seven important pieces of legislation with lobbying dollars.
