Joe Scarborough’s Profound Analysis of Middle East Situation: “They Hate Us Because They Hate Us”

What’s with the use of oversimplified pronouns this season?

First, it’s all you people.

Now, the Arabs and Muslims living “in that region over there” have been conflated into one swath of Anti-American, fundamentalist crusaders. And guess what? “They hate us”  and “they know what they are doing.” Just ask any “intelligence person.”

Addressing  the protests raging across the Middle East in the aftermath of  Libya this morning, Joe Scarborough  pitted the entire Muslim world (which is nonexistent) against the United States:

They hate us because of their religion, they hate us because of their culture, and they hate us because of peer pressure. You talk to any intelligence person, they will tell you that’s the same thing. And all those people who think we’re going to go over there and change them are just naive. Think about the savagery — the sheer unrestrained savagery — that we have seen across the Middle East and the Arab world because of a crude film. They know what they’re doing.
